Jiao-type clones are one of two known types of clones in the world of 1000xRESIST. These clones are made from remnants of Jiao's skin and hair that were trapped in Jiao's Diary. The first Jiao-type clone was created by Youngest as a birthday gift for Iris. No further Jiao-types were cloned until after the death of ALLMO when Principal began cloning them again, apparently having corrected the earlier flaws in the process.

History[edit | edit source]

The Ancient Sin[edit | edit source]

can probably be transcluded from Ancient Sister page

After ALLMO[edit | edit source]

Jiao types are restricted to the other side, performing manual labour for the benefit of the Orchard.

Did they literally get put in plantations?? Or is epitaphs red talking about post-game/on the surface. hm

Perpetually cheerful and happy, and told their purpose is to be subservient to Iris-types. The majority of the Red Guard's role seems to be to enforce

Secretary finds the Jiao-types and meets with them. He discovers he is unable to commune with the Jiaos, and so must rely on his "grand oration" to reveal the history of the Ancient Jiao and the ALLMOTHER, including the conflicts. He appears to also tell them the true identity of Principal and her orchestration of events and the creation of the clone society and their religion. This leads to some Jiao-types beginning to seek emancipation.

Endings[edit | edit source]

In one of the "bad endings" for the game, Blue can choose to eradicate the Jiaos, fearing that they may retaliate against the Iris-types for all their past crimes. If the other conditions for a "good ending" are met, then the shells successfully return to the surface and continue develop their society (evidenced by Blue wearing the advanced suit seen in Epitaphs:Blue). However, Blue is consumed by guilt over her choice.

Chapter 3

Proto-Jiao was the first attempt made by the Ancient Sister. The printing process was flawed, and rushed, evidenced by the missing skin and staples needed on the left side of her face. Similar to Iris-types, Proto-Jiao was printed at maturity and already had basic knowledge and the ability to speak, although she is less fluent than any of the other Shells shown. Whether this is due to incompatibility with the technology, due to rushing, or normal for a newly printed shell is not confirmed.

Imitating the suits given to the Ancient Sisters by the ALLMOTHER, Jiao had the Chinese character for "Shell" drawn on her jumpsuit by Youngest. She was given a ribbon and presented to Iris before the cutting of the cake.

Enraged, Iris slashed the throat of the Jiao clone with the kitchen knife.

YOUNGEST: I remember her insides. There were already rotting...

YOUNGEST: I had pulled her out too soon. That much was clear. (CH.X)

Chapter 6

During the After ALLMO era, Jiao Prime is a companion and advisor to Principal. She was the first of the Jiao-types to be birthed, and is the "most honoured Jiao-type" and servant to Principal. Alternatively, Jiao Prime may simply be following the convention for Jiao-types to be named after sweet things, and be a synergistic cross-branding marketing opportunity with a particular sugary "sports drink" made by some dudes.

Jiao Prime is given a Familiar. Given that Jiao-types are unable to commune, the reason for this is not clear. Jiao Prime is implied to have a role in managing affairs within the Provisional Government. Given that the High Minister oversees most affairs within the Orchard, Jiao Prime is most likely involved in co-ordinating and overseeing the labour conducted on the Other Side.

Because of this, some of the other Jiaos don't like her.

CHERRY: That bitch betrayed us.

BLUE: Betrayed?

CHERRY: HMMMM? I meant - Ahhh, she's so lucky. (CH.6)

Blue can meet Jiao Prime... She praises Principal's talents and acting...

After the assassination of the Ministers and Principal is incapacitated, Jiao Prime takes over administration of the Orchard in her stead.

JIAO PRIME: Leave it to Jiao, yes? I'll take care of everything... Like I always do.

She appears to survive the aftermath of the Mass Communion

Here lies a small-minded Jiao who was born from the dirt of revolution and smiled through long days of cherry-picking and horticulture. You are still the most beautiful thing l've seen. I follow you now. Hekki grace.

Candy was the "sympathizer upstairs" that Kris sent Blue to.

Cherry is the Jiao-type stationed near the stage. Her job is to hand out replicas of Jiao's diary to Iris-types. She explains to Blue that the diaries were made by Jiao-types working at the Other Side.

absolutely no poker face

says "that bitch betrayed us" about jiao-prime

CHERRY-JIAO: Do you want to hold my hand?

CHERRY-JIAO: ...

CHERRY-JIAO: Kidding!! That would draw too much attention...

BLUE: I'm sorry.

CHERRY-JIAO: No worries, hahaha.

CHERRY-JIAO: I'm just nervous... It's not every day I...die, hahaha.

BLUE: Like you said. We'll do it together. Let's leave this cruel place behind.

CHERRY-JIAO: ...

CHERRY-JIAO: I'm glad we could be friends.

CHERRY-JIAO: ...if only for a little bit!

[...]

BLUE: Cherry... Why?

BLUE: We were supposed to go together... (ch. 6)

Cherry chose to stay behind at the explosion site so nobody would get suspicious of the Jiaos. Blue stands next to her for the play, and Cherry asks if Blue wants to hold her hand. However, Cherry quickly rescinds the offer after realizing the display of affection could look suspicious.

Though Blue was prepared to die alongside Cherry, Blue survives, likely due to Cherry using her body as a shield to protect Blue from the explosion.

Candy remembers Cherry as a romantic. Blue grieves Cherry's death, and reminisces on Cherry in 2 endings, Justice for Jiao, and Epitaphs Blue:

Justice for Jiao

REMAINS: Cherry... A dreamer. A host. A martyr. A sister who would offer her hand for comfort. Remember a Jiao who never met justice.

Epitaphs Blue

REMAINS: Remember a shy Jiao who stood in the same spot her whole life, giving away empty pages of memorabilia. She loved her function. She died standing at the ready. For you, something wild.

Epitaph Jiao[edit | edit source]

In the Epitaph (Red) and Epitaph (Blue) endings, the player controls an Unnamed Jiao-type clone with a flashlight. This character accompanies Blue or Principal in a visit to the Orchard some time after the events of the game. They apparently have not been to the Orchard before, and react to the epitaphs of the game's main characters with a fresh perspective.
