The Pacific 50 was a generation ship inhabited and run by The 50 during the last days of humanity, and the events of the story largely play out within it's walls. It is unknown whether the Hazmats or The 50 constructed it. It was designed to carry human passengers and their descendants, with the occupants spending their entire lives aboard the ship and away from the dangers of the Occupants.

The Pacific 50 is where Iris was brought by Johnson the 50 and Mimi the 50 for experimentation following the discovery of her immunity.

Features[edit | edit source]

The ship was capable of withstanding extreme pressures, as it lay 1000 meters beneath the Pacific ocean for hundreds of years without failing.

The ship was capable of propelling itself through the water, travelling as well as ascending and descending from the surface. It was equipped with pods that could be detached from the main ship for expeditions to the surface. The Pods were capable of remote communication with the main ship.

The ship also contained a network of trains that ran throughout the interior, "twisting" in loops around the ship.

Within the Guarden (the main testing facility of the Pacific 50), there were connections to recreational facilities with different aesthetics. Old Town was originally devised as a type of "Asiatown".

History[edit | edit source]

The Descent[edit | edit source]

In 2048, or some years later (the exact timeframe is unknown) the Hazmats commence their plan to mask the descent of the generation ships. Of the 50 ships only 7 survive descent, with the Pacific 50 being one of them.

After their descent, Johnson the 50 gives the order for Mimi the 50 to begin experimentation on Iris and research into the virus.

The Guarden is used as the primary research facility within the ship, and the previously-constructed recreation facilities]] are opened. The first Iris-type clones are created using the cloning facilities, and Mimi the 50 continues trying to improve the cloning process.

The ALLMOTHER era[edit | edit source]

The Clone Society repurposed the Guarden into the Orchard, making it the primary working place of all shells and the residence of the Shapen Sisters.

Fixer mentions maintenance of the Orchard (including the Inside Sky) was growing more difficult with time.

Healer and the other healer-type shells noticed with worry that the cloning facilities within the ship were breaking down, with there being only 1 reliable birthing pod remaining.

The Provisional Government Era[edit | edit source]

The Provisional Government expanded their control over more of the ship, sending Jiao-types to work "fields" in the Other Side.

The Exiled Sisters use the train network to evade capture by the Red Guard for years, but the train they are using breaks down, likely due to age and being run longer than they were designed for.
