The 50
JOHNSON THE 50: Things are going very bad for the 50. Much worse than is generally known. We're losing contact with the other facilities, one by one. Their last communications are...disturbing.
Iris, I need you to think more than one step ahead. I need you to endure. Humanity needs you to endure.
The 50 is the last branch of an organization developed after the Occupant invasion. They are a part of a worldwide effort to preserve humanity via a fleet of generation ships. The total crew is presumed to be around 2000, and gathered from Canada or North America. The Pacific 50 was given the unique task of taking Iris in, and studying her immnunity to try and find a solution for the Occupant's disease.
History[edit | edit source]
The 50 were the crew of the Pacific 50, one of many generation ships floating on Earth's oceans. The crew wore hazmat suits at all times, protecting them from the disease.
After the 50 brought Iris on board their ship, they descended from the surface to hide from the Occupants, safely arriving at their destination 1000 metres below the Pacific Ocean.
Iris convinced The 50 to bring her to her school on the surface. Around this time, some members of the 50 had lived their entire lives within the ship with no experience of the surface world.
Years of experimentation on Iris and her clones . After Mimi's death, the 50 lost hope and some of the crew started dying from suicide, followed by a mutiny leading to a massacre. An Occupant entered the ship, killing the remainder of the crew. Iris was the sole survivor.
Most of the 50 were buried by Iris, but the bridge crew were left where they died, allowing the Clone Society to copy the biometric data needed for full control over the Pacific 50's systems.
